Since 2022, I have co-organized the Seminario de Tradición Clásica en las Culturas Hispánicas y Modernas. • I am currently working on a Spanish translation and commentary of ten idylls by Theocritus. I am also involved in different projects on the reception of Greek language and literature in Mexico, Hellenism in the Early Modern Period, and environmental criticism applied to Greek and Baroque poetry.

  • My interests span all periods of Greek literature, with a focus on Hellenistic poetry, Theocritus and the bucolic corpus, and female poets.
I am also interested in classical reception, environmental studies and other critical approaches to ancient and modern literature.
One of my main fields of study has been intertextuality in Hellenistic poetry. Recently, I have become very interested in Theocritus’ engagement with gender and materiality, and how these relations can be explored through intratextuality. I also work with Late bucolic poetry, particularly Bion of Smyrna’s Epitaph for Adonis and its Early Modern reception. I am also interested in Hellenism in the Early Modern Period and in Hispanic literature and culture.
